Our first scenic spot is the Shaoshan comrade Mao Zedon's former residence .
Which is located in the mountains of Maolin Xiuzhu and verdant. The house is an ordinary farmhouse with mud bricks, green tiles and civil structures. There are 13 houses in the former residence, built by Mao Zedong's father, Mao Shunsheng. In December 26, 1893, Mao Zedong was born here, and spent his childhood and youth here. In 1929, the former residence was confiscated by the Kuomintang government, and most of the furniture in the house was destroyed and robbed. In 1950, the people's government nationalized the old residence and restored it to the outside world according to its original appearance. The rooms, study rooms and houses of parents that Mao Zedong was born showed some original objects and photographs. In 1961, the State Council was declared the national key cultural relics protection unit. In June 27, 1983, Deng Xiaoping inscribed "the former residence of Comrade Mao Zedong" on the plaque on the door. In 1964, the exhibition hall of Comrade Mao Zedong's former residence was built in Shaoshan.
Bronze Statue Square
The bronze statue of Chairman Mao Zedong, the great leader of the Chinese people and a great man of a generation, stands in Shaoshan Chong Square, the center of Shaoshan Chong and is very close to Chairman Mao's former residence. Chairman Mao's bronze statue is designed according to the image of Chairman in the National Ceremony. It is situated in the southwest and facing the northeast. The chairman has a great body. He holds a book in both hands, wears a Zhongshan suit, and has bright smiles in both eyes. The bronze statue is 6 meters high, the red granite base is 4.1 meters high, the whole height is 10.1 meters, and the bronze statue weighs 3.7 tons. On the pedestal, the five characters of Comrade Jiang Zemin, written by Jiang Zemin, are glistening. Chairman's Bronze Statue Square is very magnificent, planted with pine and cypress, while flower beds are planted with holly, camellia, rose and other flowers. In December 20, 1993, general secretary Jiang Zemin came here specially to unveil the statue of Mao Zedong. Then, the square became the world of flowers and the sea of crowds. Today, this is the most attractive tourist attraction in Shaoshan, attracting many Chinese and foreign tourists.
